Metal Fabrication
Overview
Columbia Machine Works operates one of the largest metal fabrication shops in the southeastern United States, handling heavy, structural fabrication in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and more.
Fabrication equipment includes:
- 400-ton, 12' press brake
- 5/8" x 8' plate rolls
- 5" x 5" x 5/8" structural rolls
- 3/8" x 12' shear
- 120" x 288" CNC plasma cutter
Together, this equipment allows us to cut and form virtually any structural fabrication, from individual components to large-scale steel assemblies.
All welding is performed by welders certified in heavy metal fabrication and reviewed by in-house Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs). Our welders work to AWS codes, including AWS D1.1 for structural steel, with inspectors verifying every fabrication against AWS-approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS). Columbia Machine Works is a corporate member of the American Welding Society (AWS) and is currently in process for American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) certification.
Our fabrication shop works alongside our on-site machine shop, paint and sandblast facility, and a large, clean assembly bay — giving customers a single source for fabrication, machining, finishing, and assembly under one roof.
